Why ?

Because it takes much more time to implement the map provider feature which are requested here:

What is not yet implemented in the next version

• import/export map providers for easy exchange
• display new map providers in the tour map
• overlay different map providers (this will take the most time)
• cleanup UI
• separate language files to update them separately

So I expect that a few more months are needed for the next version. But to give you a brief glimpse of the current status, here are a few screenshots:
